Nicola Williscroft Veterinary Care Assistant

My name is Nikki, and I am one of Pool House Veterinary Hospitals veterinary care assistants, I have been at the practice nearly a year and a half.

I hold a Batchelor of Sciences degree in animal management, graduating in 2007. I was a zoo keeper for 10 years, working with an array of species including snow leopards, tigers, hyena, otter, meerkats, giraffe, tapir, bongo, and many more. I have aided in conservation programmes around the world, including training ambassador cheetahs in South Africa. To trekking the forests of Argentia working with conservation dogs, tracking bush dogs to locate and map their geographical range.

I then spent 4 years working at an assistance dog charity, as a dog training instructor. Training dogs how to respond to specific sounds around the home, and out in public, as well as coaching volunteers how to bring up and train an assistance dog puppy.

I now continue my work within the animal industry in a different capacity, aiding with the care and management of people's pets at Pool House Veterinary Hospital.
